First visit
Your first visit, step by step
- “I haven’t been to the dentist in years”
- “What happens the first time?”
- “How long does it take?”
The first visit is the moment to assess the health of your smile and plan your treatment. We start even before you arrive, with a phone call, and finish with a second appointment in which we take the time to explain your treatment plan.

In short
- How long
- about an hour
- What we use
- an intraoral 3D scanner and digital X-rays
- The treatment plan
- in a second appointment of 45 to 60 minutes, with the estimate
- Languages

Step by step
How it works

- The welcomeThe clinical coordinator shows you around the practice and helps you fill in your medical history and the questionnaires on a tablet, with a digital signature.
- The examinationAbout an hour, with an intraoral 3D scanner and digital X-rays, for an accurate assessment.
- The treatment planThe treatment plan and the estimate, handed over and explained in detail in a second appointment of about 45 to 60 minutes.
After the first visit
The following sessions
Every appointment after that is designed for your comfort and peace of mind. You’ll be welcomed in a personalised setting, with your favourite music and videos.
Before treatment we apply a moisturising cream or serum to your lips, to protect them and prevent chapping.

If one of these sounds like you
“I haven’t been in years”
Nobody here will judge you: at the first visit we look together at where to start, and usually no treatment begins that day. How we welcome anxious patients (in Italian).
“It hurts right now”
Don’t wait for the first visit: call the practice. What to do straight away is on the urgent care page.
“It’s for my child”
For children the first visit is recommended at around 18 to 24 months, even without dental problems.
“I was told my teeth have to come out”
First we try to save them: our Preserva Method starts with the first visit.
Who you’ll meet
The people you’ll meet at your first visit
The front desk answers the phone and welcomes you at the practice; the dentists examine you.
Questions
What patients ask us before coming
How long does the first visit take?
About an hour, with an intraoral 3D scanner and digital X-rays. We explain the treatment plan and the estimate in a second appointment of about 45 to 60 minutes.
Which languages do you speak?
At the practice we speak Italian, English, German, Slovenian, Russian and French.
I’m afraid of the dentist: can I say so?
Yes, and it’s the first thing to say on the phone: we go at your pace, and every step is explained before it’s taken. You can meet our dogs on request (if you have an allergy, or would rather not meet them, tell us when you book), and a psychologist works with the practice: ask the front desk if you’d like to speak to him.
